Tuor Eladar is Eärendil's father

 Tuor Eladar is Eärendil's father.  That is the grandfather of Elrond and Elros.  Elros was the first king of Númenor.

 Tuor was a war hero of the Hador clan in Gondolin.  He is the Lord of the House of the Wing.  Tuor's favorite weapon was the Battle Ax called Dramborleg.  With this axe, Tuor killed three Balrogians and an Orc leader in the final battle of Gondolin.  Similarly, Tuor had a special swan wing shield symbolizing his house.

 The weapons owned by Tuor were later owned by his heirs, the royal line of Númenor.
